Today is the first day of the rest of my life. I say this often, when I want to start a new goal or training program. It is a good way to start fresh.
My gym membership expired on my birthday. I weighed my options about different gyms: NYSAF, I ♥ that place BUT to take a class you have to get there an hour early and it is expensive. Planet Fitness is cheap and open at night BUT the drive would be annoying and no classes. Chemung County Family Center, mostly older people. YWCA is nice because it has a pool BUT the water is too warm for laps. I decided to buy a treadmill and use things I already have- P90X, Hip hop Abs, weights, Wii, and Xbox Kinect. I ordered my treadmill about 2 weeks ago, which I actually researched before buying. They are expensive!!!! So I have been using this as my excuse not to excerise and my birthday for an excuse to eat whatever. Eric got Bill to help carry the treadmill down stairs Saturday night. Eric spent a few hours putting it together for me while I watched and ate cheeseballs. I was told not to try and put it together because I am bad with things that plug in and Eric didnt want me to ruin it right away 😉
I registered for More Magazine Fitness Womens half Marathon on April 15th. I got out my running bible and figured out that I have 11 weeks till the race. Guess I better get my butt in gear. Which brings me to today. It is 0130 and I can’t sleep. A prefect time to use my treadmill. I got my new shoes on (thankyou Nicole) got some water, a towel, and my ipod. I tried to hook up the ifit but it did not work, oh well. I ran well jogged 1 mile in 12 minutes. I thought I better not get too crazy my first day out and the treadmill was not level, will be fixing that in the morning. <— Fat kid was hot after a mile run. yikes I got a lot of work to do!
I did figure out the ifit and I cant wait to use it tomorrow, I will let you know how it goes.
